I have this kit in my collection as well. Still waiting to be build, though. And it will be some time...
Saw in this post the mirrors were glued on. The struts are black. How do you prevent the glue dissolving the paint? This goes for the paint on both the mirror and the body, evidently.
Asking this because I am wondering whether to spray mirrors separate from the body, of install them before spraying. The latter option is only viable when the mirrors have the same color as the body (although with the mirrors on the body I wonder how to add the reflecting surfaces).
Anyway, nice work on the model and an interesting blog.
Hi Tom, thank you for your nice words. I painted the mirrors first (first yellow and then masked and painted the struts with black), and I glued them with a very little amount of CA to the body. As there is a little hole to place them, there 's no problem if the glue disolves the paint (anyway I always sand a litlle bit the part where I will put the glue to delete all the paint that I can).
I always glue the reflecting surfaces at the last time (sometimes even the mirrors are glued to the body). I think that in that car it would be quite difficult to glue the mirrors first and then to paint them because the masking job could be hard to do.

Nice job!
Would you like to become linkpartners? I'm building a Audi R8, but I need visitors. :P
