I started to apply the CF decals. I also masked the body to paint a mist coat of flat black to the places where the CF decals are applied to tone down the grey color.

The flat black is painted over the CF decals on the inner faces of the rear wing plates. I really like how they look.
I also glued all the body parts before start the decal job. The fit of the parts is better than I thought.....
And finally I started the decal job and glued the front wing parts. Hope to finish it soon......

I glued all the little wings and mirrors to the body.

As the F2007 will be curbside I also glued the cowling to the cockpit. Doing in that way, there will be no different shades of colors.

All parts are painted with primer.

There have been too much discusions on how to paint the late f2007. I will use a mixture of titanium gold + clear red over it...

It's curious to see a ferrari in gold.... but I must admit that I like it! in a few days I'll airbrush the clear red.

After some months I worked on the F2007 again...The fujimi kit has the lower part of the copckit in one single piece and I cut it to separate the nose part.

Both parts of the nose cone where glued and I drilled the hole in the front but I didn't like the result I had....

So I filled the hole with epoxi and sanded hardly until I get a smooth surface.

Then I started the work on the body. I glued all the parts, filled the gaps, sanded and now they are ready to paint.

Don't ask me why, but I lost the upper part of the rear wing....

As I couldn't find a spare one, I took the upper part of the mp4/13 rear wing. I sanded it to obtain a similar shape.

Finally I cut it and painted with white primer and TS-85

Not the best one, but I'm happy with the result.
I used a string guitar to build the antennas.
And glued them on their place and also glued some bolts on the body.

The last stage, I airbrushed three coats of TS-13. I masked the parts where I wanted to keep the matt black.

The car is near to be finished! Only I need to attach the wheels. so I'll post some pictures of the finished car soon!

The decals are on their place.

I glued the sidepods, the camera on the top and the mirrors. Some PE bolts and rivets were also glued on the body. I will wait some days and I'll airbrush the clear coat.

We have new kids on town! The first one is a new airbrush. It's an iwata revolution (0,5mm needle). It's time to retire my old ABS300!

Tamiya's M23 in 1/20! (and some tobacco decals.....) this has been the holy grail for the modelers during many years, as it was really difficult to find.
This is a reedition of the original, but I'm happy I will be able to build it!
And finally, the tamiya's lotus 79 martini livery. I also bought the rebaque livery decals to use with the other lotus 79 I bought some months ago. Maybe they will be the next cars I will build......

I'm back! I'm sorry I didn't post any update in the last months but after a year working on the mclaren I was a bit tired of modeling and I needed to take a break! I tried to use some CF decals on the floor and on the suspension arms but I was not happy with the results and finally I decided to build the car "out of the box" without many details added.
I glued the copckit parts and also the front suspension arms and the front brakes.

In the kit there are some kevlar decals to use on some aerodynamic parts. These decals are nice but too glossy in my opinion.

So I airbrushed a very thin layer of flat black to tone down the shining of the kevlar.

As I told before, I tried to use some CF decals but they didn't worked as I wanted (maybe they were too old...), so I decided to try the method to paint flat black through a mesh over the semigloss black.

I know it's not 100% accurated but I'm happy with the result.

Finally I glued the copckit to the floor and also worked on the engine (without detailing it as it won't be seen due the car will be curbside).

It's time to start decaling!

I made a big mistake! I didn't test the position of the green circles before airbrushing the logos and when I did it... the logos were touching the circles....

So I decided to sand the logos and start again using the tyre logos decals instead of airbrushing them. The fisrt step was a first layer of gloss clear.

Then I started decalling the circles and the logos. Finally I airbrushed another layer of gloss clear, two layers of matt clear and finally I airbrushed a very thin layer of smoke+matt black to tone done the shinning.

I worked on the body parts. Two layers of white primmer and a little sanding work with #1000 and #2000 grade sandpaper.

Finally I painted the body parts with TS-85. First I painted two layers, tomorrow I'll sand them and will paint a final layer.

I also finished the work on the seat using a KA models p.e. seatbelts set (instead the tamiya's one). The clothes are from an old perfect parts seatbelts set. More updates soon!

The wheels are finished. I used tyre logo decals, two layers of gloss clear (one before applying the decals and one after), one layer of matt clear and a thin layer of matt black.

The seat is also finished. I used a KA seatbelts p.e. set. Today I will start to work on the body of the F2007.

Three holes were drilled on the seat, sanded and painted it with flat black. Tonight I will start the job on the seatbelts.

The inner parts of the car are painted with semigloss black.

I airbrushed the tyre logos using the template given by tamiya. I will let them dry for two days and I'll apply the green circles decals.

I also finished the steering wheel.....it was really difficult to paint those small buttons but I'm happy with the result!

I also decaled it with some CF decals, the picture is not very good but it really looks fine.

This is the 1/20 fujimi kit, and I will try to build it at the same time with the F60. It will be curbside too and I'll try to build the late season version, the one with the metallic red.

I started working on the wheels. In 2007 the soft wheels had a line painted in white, so I started masking the tyres.

It's done! next step will be apply the logos and start working on the body.

Four new kits arrived at home! The williams fw-16 was one of the kits I always wanted to build and finally it was released in plastic! I also bought the latest tamiya kit, lotus 79. I was planning to build the "martini" livery, but as it will be also released soon by Tamiya, I will build the "rebaque" version (with the car painted in brown)

These two are very special, as they were missing in my tamiya collection... I bought them in ebay at 15$ each... really a bargain!

Hi to all, the last weeks I didn't work on the F60, but I did another kind of modeling. I built a new paint booth with the help of two friends of mine, albert & jordi. Gràcies nenes!

It is 60x40x30cm and it's made of MDF. As I don't have enough space at home I wanted to build something easy to use and also easy to keep.

I used a cooking fan (it's a squirrelcage type) and the cooking filtre is removable to make it easy to replace.

The air duct is also removable, easy to fix and easy to keep. Now it's time to follow working on the F60!

Hi to all! after some weeks out of hobby, I'll start a new project. It will be the new tamiya's Ferrari F60 and I'll build it curbside, without detailing the engine.
I glued tue two parts of the nose cone, filled the joint with superglue and sanded it with sandpaper (from 400 to 1200).

The two parts of the air intake and the piece to fill the camera hole where also glued, filled and sanded.

The result is ok. the joint lines are invisible and I'll paint it with white primer to see if there are some imperfections.

I also did a test fitting to see how the different parts of the car fit together.

The floor was also sanded roughly to delete the injection marks. Nexts steps will be painting all the inner parts with black, then primer them with white and start working on the copckit.

Finally I built the helmets of Coulthard and Hakkinen.
And the car is finished!!!!

Finally I couldn't resist to put the two mp4/13 together. The original one is the first model I built seven years ago....

I hope you enjoyed this building! Next ones will be the tamiya's Ferrari F60 and fujimi's Ferrari 2007. Both will be curbside and I'll try to build them at the same time.

The front suspension is finished!

And the front brakes are also on their place.

I glued the engine, the body and the sidepods to the floor plan.

The rear brakes are finished and glued to the engine.

The front and rear wings are glued and started to polish the cowling with 2000 grid sandpaper and polishing tamiya compound.

The badgeboards were also glued to the body.

I started working on the front brakes. I drilled two holes and glued two 0.3mm cooper lines. Then I glued the photoetched plates where the upper suspension arms will be attached.

There is a circle behind the driver's helmet that it must be painted in black. As it's not easy to do it brushing, I took an old p.e. sheet that had a circular hole with the same size. I put it over the circle and airbrushed two layers of flat black.

it worked! I also airbrushed the black parts of the front and rear wings.
Finally I put the CF and logo decals over them. I will wait some days and will start to airbrush three layers of clearcoat.

I started decaling de different body parts. I will wait three days to let the decals dry and then I will clear coat and polish them.

The inner parts of the monocoque where decaled with sms CF decals and clear coated with 3 layers of TS-13.

I primed the bargeboards, the front and rear wings with two layers of grey and two layers of white.

Once the paint dried, I sanded the parts with 800 to 2000 grid and airbrushed two layers of orange. I'll wait some days and then I'll polish them again and will paint two more layers of orange.
The front and rear brake ducts were CF decaled. It took about one hour to finish every one. I airbrushed some matt black to tone down the shinning as you can see in the duct on the right in the picture.

I also started working on the wheels. The first thing I did was drill a hole in the center of the rims. Then, I polished them and airbrushed one layers of primer and two layers of semigloss black.

The engine is 99% finished... some more wires and it will be done.

Both sidepods are finished and I painted and glued the radiator hoses.

The steering wheel is also finished.

Finally I could finish the rear suspension system and glued it to the gear box.

Some wires were also added and I drilled two holes on the exhausts and glued the electrical connectors.

The electronic box on the left sidepod is also finished. Now I have to glue the radiator pipes and start working on the right sidepod.

A layer of flat black was airbrushed on the rear part of the body. Now I have to decal it with some CF decals.

I started decalling the sidepods with kevlar and carbon fiber decals. I also airbrushed them with a mixture of tamiya smoke and flat black (you can see the difference before and then on the picture)

I also decalled and airbrushed the air intake.

The floor is also decalled with carbon fiber.

And also airbrushed a mixture of tamiya smoke and flat black to tone down the shining of the decals. I really like the result.

Finally I made a first test fitting before starting to work on the engine. I also decalled all the suspension arms and glued the heat shield on the floor using foil from a tobaco box.

just a little update.... I finished the four brake discs and glued the calipers. I must admit that the process to build them is tedious but the result is pretty good.

I painted the exhausts, covered them with foil and finally painted the foil with a mixture of clear red and clear yellow (40-60).
I started working on the engine. Added some wiring and started to apply CF decals to suspension arms. I'll try to post more pictures soon...

The electronic connectors are glued to the front nose plate. I also added some wires.

I followed working on the brake discs. According to the top studio instruccions, I cut some 5mm-long pieces of 0,5mm solder line, glued to the discs and cut them when dried.

After 2 hours of work, I finally finished one of the brake discs. I'm quite happy with the result so, three more to do.....

I started working on the front nose. I decaled it with CF sms decal and glued the p.e. parts painted with flat black.

The reservoirs were painted and glued and added some wiring. Still need some job to finish it.

I also finished the calipers. I painted them with xf-56, painted the ap logos and put a temperature sensor decal. I also added a little detail using 0.3mm steel wire.

And I started the work on the rear suspension arms. I first cut the tamiya piece to use the parts from the top studio set.
I painted and glued the suspension srpings from top studio and added some connectors. Next step will be decal the suspension arms with CF and attach them to the springs.

I'm working in too many little parts at the same time......I hope to finish them soon and start working on the engine...

I started working on the engine. I used a styrene rod to bend the etched plate wich will be place underneath the engine.

I covered the plate with foil and used a file to give it a rough texture. Next step will be paint it with clear orange.

The seat is also finished. I decaled it with CF decals from sms and used the seatbelt hardware from the top studio kit.

A little update. The painting process of the different parts is so slow... I started working on the brake disks. The disks on the top studio set are presented in two parts. The p.e. part was very easy to glue and fitted perfectly.

Once glued, I primed the disks with grey primmer. I also airbrushed the brake calipers.

I also started working on the wood plank on the floor. I sanded it smoothly and masked the plank.

It's done! the painting process was: first layer of white primer, 2 layers of light sand colour, then I airbrushed some layers of different mixtures of flat earth and brown and also some flat black. Once dried, I sanded carefully some wood lines using a rough sandpaper and airbrhused again a light coats of different browns.

I glued all the floor parts and sanded the joint. I also sanded the injection marks.

The different parts of the nose were also glued and sanded.

I made a template of the copckit interior walls.

And decalled them with carbon fiber decals.

Finally I glued the 2 parts of the copckit. When the glue dried, I sanded the joint with 400, 800, 1000 and 1500 sandpaper.

I painted the body parts with 2 layers of grey primer. I let them dry two days, sanded them carefully and painted one layer of white primer, I sanded them again and painted a final layer of white primer.

I sanded the second white layer again and airbrushed a first layer of mclaren orange from zero paints.

The body parts are painted. I'll wait some more days to let the paint dry, I will sand them again and I will paint two final coats of orange.

Today I will start working on the engine.

After few weeks working on a plane that a friend asked to me, I could start working on the mp4/13.
I'll try to show to you all the steps of this WIP.
First of all I painted all the inner parts with flat black.
As the test car don't use cameras on board, I cut the camera on the top of the body.

I also cut the moulded parts to join the cone nose.

A first test fitting. This part will be covered with a photoetched plate.

The guiding lines to paint the GP version were sanded.

I glued the different parts of the cowling and sanded the joint. The hole to put the camera was also filled with putty and sanded.

As I don't want to put the seat before to paint the body, I opened the hole under the body to make it bigger to put the seat from the underside at the final time.

This is my next project: the mclaren mp4/13 (test version).

I will build it as detailed as I can, and I will use the tamiya's mclaren kit, the superdetail set from topstudio and the logo and carbon fiber decals from scalemotorsport.

The tamiya kit is really great and I will use the japanese version, It has a different front & rear wing configuration.

The decals from scalemotorsport are great as usual, and I will paint the car using the zero paints' orange colour that I bought from hiroboy. I want to build the driver's helmet, and I will use the helmets from el oso kits and the studio 27's decals from bestbalsakits.

The superdetail set from topstudio is just incredible and it worth every cent.

You can find there lots of resin and metal machined pieces to improve the brakes, the engine and the suspensions system.

They also add a bunch of wires with different diameters.

The photoetched parts are presented in three sheets.

The instructions set is very complete and clear. I downloaded it from their site and printed in a4.

And finally I printed some reference pictures that I found from different sites in the net wich will be very usefull to build the car.

Now, I only have to start to work on it.....

The decalling job finished.

I glued some nuts & bolts here and there using a toothpick and cyano glue.

I drilled two Ø0.5mm holes on the side of the cowling were the antennas will be placed.

Finally I glued the antennas, the brakes and the rear wing. Once the decals will be completely dried, I will clearcoat all with some layers of TS-13.

A little update... the cowling and the nose are glued. I'm happy to see that there isn't a big gap between the green joint on the different parts.

The floor plan was decalled with sms carbon fiber decals.

As the decals are too much greyish, I airbrushed a mixture of 80% smoke+20% semigloss black to turn them darker. I like the final result.
I glued the front and rear wings.

I built the engine and glued it on the floor plan. As the engine won't be visible, I didn't put too effort to detail it and I also take off some parts to have a better fitment of the cowling.

Finally I glued the cowling to the body. I'll start the decalling job tonight.

I applied all decals on the rims, glued the air valves and clearcoated them with two layers of TS-13.

The moulding line on the tyres were sanded.

I airbrushed the logos on the tyres using a template and weathered them with a mist coat of smoke+flat black.

I masked the sidepods and airbrushed them with semigloss black.

The copckit was glued in its place and finished the nose cone decal.

I scratchbuilt the brakes wiring using vynil tub and cooper wire.

Finally I glued the front suspension arms.

I couldn't wait to make a test fitting... the car looks promising.

The inner parts were airbrushed with semigloss black and I applied the front nose decal.

I worked on the dashboard and the steering painting the switches using a toothpick.

I put the decals and glued the parts. The dashboard is finished.

I also started the work on the wheels. I drilled a Ø0.4mm hole where the air valves will be placed.

Finally, I applied the decals on the rims. Tonight I will apply the rims logo decals, the tyre valves and I'll wait some days to airbrush a clear coat. Then, I will airbrush the tyre logos using a template.

After some days of holidays I started working on the car again. I turned crazy looking for the green paint can... it was sold out in all my local stores. Finally I could get one!

I decided to paint the green parts instead of using the decals provided, so I masked all the yellow parts.
Two layers of white primer were painted.

Then I lightly sanded the primer paint and applied 2+2 coats of green.

And the masks are off. The result is OK and I only have to sand the joint between the two colours. I'll wait some days and then I will mask the body again and paint the black inner parts. In the meanwhile I'll start working on the engine.

I started to work on the seat. I used the p.e. seatbelt hardware set from KA models and I took the clothes from an old perfect parts set.

I cut a string guitar in a 6mm long piece and used it to build the harness.

I sanded the excess using the rotary tool.

Here are the seatbelts finished. I also used the sabelt decals from the perfect parts set.

I also scratchbuilt the radio connector.

And the seat is finished.

All parts of the body were painted with three layers of chrome yellow (TS-47). Once dried, I'll mask and paint the green parts instead of using the decals. As you can see, I also received the top studio detail set to build the mclaren mp4/13. It's really great! I'll make a review of it soon! can't wait to start working on the mp4/13 detailed car......

Today I received the camel logo decals from meddiamixhobby.

I made a first fitting test before paint the body with primer.

The gaps on the seat are filled with putty and I painted it with two layers of grey primer.

All body parts are also painted with 2 layers of white primer. Tomorrow I will start working on the engine parts.

New project has started! Tamiya's 1/20 benetton-ford b192. Michael Schumacher won his first GP driving this car in Spa-Francorchamps (1992)

The tamiya kit is great with a lot of details and, as usual in them, it doesn't provide the camel logo decals, wich I've ordered and I'm waiting to receive soon.

I started sanding the molded seatbelts on the seat. It needs some putty to fill the gaps and some more sanding.

I glued the different parts that must be attached to the body and hardly sanded the joint.
I also glued the parts to the cowling and drilled the holes. Nest step will be apply two coats of primer over all body parts.

The car is finished. The fujimi kit is really great and all pieces fit perfectly. I must say that they really did a good job with this model.

Next car will be the tamiya's benneton-ford B192 driven by Michael Schumacher in 1992. The B192 gave him his first GP victory.

The decalling job has finished and the sliding skirts are glued in their place. I built the anti-roll bar and glued the front wing.
The rear wing is also close to be finished. Next step will be clearcoating with TS-13.

Some little wiring job is done and I also glued the kill-switch.

I airbrushed the windshield with clear blue, and painted the interior of the cowling with white, and also started the decalling job.

Fujimi made a big mistake on the tyre decals. As you can see it says "michlin" instead of "michelin". I tried to send them a mail but I had no response. I also didn't like how looked the decals on the tyres.

I took the tyre letters template from the Renault R30b studio27's p.e. set and airbrushed the logos. I know that's not very accurate to the real car, but I'm more satisfied with this result than applying the wrong decals.

I also painted the right and left marks and airbrushed a light coat of matt black over the tyres.
Finally I glued the cowling to the body. Tonight I will work on the rear wing and also on the sliding skirts.

This is the next build, fujimi's 1/20 ferrari 126CK, and it will be a fast WIP because I'll do it curbside.

I started working on the monocoque, the dashboard and the steering wheel.

The seatbelts were build using KA models photoetched set.

The front suspension arms and brakes are built. I also attached the brake wiring to the arms.

I also workedon the engine. It still needs a blackwash to tone down the shine. I will put there some more wiring.

The monocoque and the engine were glued to the floor base.

First test fitting with the tyres. I really like those rain tyres, fujimi did a great job there. The car is looking very nice.

As you can see, the rear suspension arms and the brake ducts are also finished.
And one more test fit with the engine cover. Now I need to work on the wings, the wiring on the engine and polish and painting a final layer of red prior to decalling and clearcoating.

A little progress is done. I attached the slidding skirts to the side of the body.

I painted the nose cone, applied the decals and attached it to the body.
The decalling job is also finished. I also applied two layers of TS-13. I only need to finish the rear wing and the car will be finished.

I painted the body with italian red. Now I have to sand it and paint a second layer before apply the decals.

As the fujimi kit doesn't provide the engine switch off, I scratchbuilded it.

I attached it to the body. I also used the fire extinger from the 126ck kit and glued the steering in its place.

I glued the roll bar and the rear ventilation ducts. The engine is close to be finished.

I started working on the wheels. As they won't be attached to the car I drilled a hole in the nut.

I masked the rims.

And I painted them with titanium gold.

I used the tyre letters template from the fmd set instead using the decals. It was the first time I used a tyre template and didn't know how it could work.

All went fine and the tyres are finished. I must say that I love more the result of painting the letters than using the decals. The result is absolutely more realistic.

I made a little progress this weekend. I worked on the radiator pipes. The ones from the kit were short and I had to lenghten them a little bit.

I glued them to the body. I also worked on some more engine parts.

Finally I added some more wiring... tonight I'll try to finish the engine.

I started the work on the brake ducts. The parts from the kit are transparent (right on the picture) and I painted them with a very thin coats of buff acrilyc paint (xf-57).

Finally I add some dust and smoke with flat black.

To detail the brakes I bought a Ø3mm threaded bar and cut it in 6mm long pieces. I also bought some nuts and painted them with titanium gold.

Here you can see the brake finished on the right and the brake from the kit on the left. I think I achieved an acceptable detail on it.

I built all brakes in the same way.
The front suspension arms are finished. They only need some blackwashing. I also put some wiring attached on the suspension arms.

Finally I made a test fitting. Now I can work on the engine again.

The seat was painted with flatblack and I also attached the seatbelts using the p.e. part from fmd set

I also worked on the pedals system. As it won't be visible, I didn't put too much effort in it.

I glued the body parts and put the dashboard, the seat and the gear shift in their place.

I glued the metal panels from the p.e. set on the body.

I also worked on the front suspension arms.

And I also started the job on the brakes.

I started working on the dashboard. I removed all rims in plastic wich will be replaced for p.e. parts.

I glued the photoetched part and after I painted the whole piece with flatblack.
Once the paint dryed, I lightly sanded the surface of the rims until the metal came on again.

The dashboard is finished. I applied the decals and I used some weldings from an electronic plate to simulate the switches.

I also worked on the engine parts. I rolled up a thin wire to simulate the spring on this engine part.

The engine is going on. Still need some work...

The hose clamps are on their place. Now they need a little blackwash to tone down their shine.

I started working on the exhausts. I cut and cleaned the pieces to apply some p.e. parts.

Here you can see the original exhaust on the left and the same piece cleaned on the right.

I put the p.e. plates and hose clamps on the exhausts. Finally I painted them with metallic grey, little layers of metallic blue and yellow to simulate some burn parts (the picture can't show it at all)and finally I did a blackwash with flat black.

I glued the little wings from the p.e. set on the rear of the body.

I painted the cowling with two layers of white primmer, sanded with 600, 800, 1200 grid and painted two more layers of primmer.

I started the work on the body. I cut the suspension arms. They will be replaced with p.e. parts.

I painted the body with two layers of aluminium colour.

The work on the engine has also started. I painted the engine block with a mixture of titanium gold and silver.

I painted a maskingtape with fluo green and cut some strips. I will use the hose clamps from the p.e. set. I also used strips of golden foil to simulate the connectors.

The next kit I'll build will be the fujimi's 1/20 ferrari 126C2.

As I want to build it detailed I will also use the FMD's photoetched set.

I started working on the body. I cut the plastic elements on the ventilation openings. These parts will be replaced with photoetched parts.

After cutting, I sanded it carefully.

Finally I glued the p.e. part. It must be bended from inside to outside but I'll do it after painting the body.

The final detail! the kill switch was glued to the car.

And the jaguar is finally done!!! I will take some more pictures on the sunlight and I'll put them on the gallery of my website.

The jaguar decal is in its place. I also made the exhaust using metal tube.

I also decalled the camera and glued it on the top of the car.

I put the bridgestone decals on the tyres and airbrushed some smoke to tone down the shine of decals.

I also airbrushed some smoke and flat black on the exhausts.

The steering wheel and the mirrors are also finished and glued to the car.

The rear wing and the brakes are also attached to the car.
The car is close to be finished. Next work is clearcoat it with TS-13, add the antennas, the badgeboards and the wheels.

A little progress is done. I mounted the seat into the copckit and the front suspension arms were attached to the body.

I also finished the front wing and glued it to the nose.

I started the work on the wheels. I printed some "L" and "R" on an adhesive paper and cut them and put over the wheels.

I airbrushed magenta paint over the paterns. Next step will be apply the bridgestone decals and paint a mist coat of flat black and smoke to tone down the shine of the decals.

I continued decalling the body.

All body is decalled except the "jaguar" logo, wich I'll apply the last. The badgeboards and the rear wing side elements are also decalled.

I also put a red decal (I took it from a mp4/8 spare decal) into the air intake.

I "carbon-fibered" all suspension arms using scalemotorsports CF decals. As you can see on the left of the picture I also worked on the steering wheel.

The exhaust zones on the cowling were also covered with carfon fiber decals. It needs some black washing and I will also put some rivets there.

This is the first test fitting before applying decals.

The decalling job have started. Hope to have some advances soon....

Today I airbrushed the jaguar green color from zero paints.

All green parts are painted. I also painted the front and rear wing elements in white. Next step will be put carbon fiber decals on suspension arms.

I started working on the wooden plank undeneath the car. The first step was paint a light brown base. As you can see, the rear wing plates are also near to be finished.

I airbrushed some coats of different mixtures of brown and flat black

I sanded the surface with 800-1000 grid from front to rear, drybrushed some wooden lines and repeated the airbrushing of brown and flat black

And here's the finalt result. I'm quite happy with it.

I also painted the rims with gold. I only have to put the tyre valves and clear coat with TS-13.

Finally I could work with jaguar again, the body parts were glued and filled the seam line and sanded it.

The injection marks in the floor plan were filled with putty and sanded.

I applyied two layers of grey primer and sanded again.

Two light layers of white primer are applyied. Tomorrow I'll spray two more heavy coats. The floor is also painted with semi-gloss black. Next step will be paint the wooden plan underneath the car.

The rear wing elements are also different, so I cut two pieces of styrene and glued them to the original parts. Some putty and sanding is needed before paint them with primer.

I drilled a 0,4mm hole on the cowling and glued the kill switch I took from a spare p.e. set.

The car is near to be finished. Antennas and mirrors are attached and I only have to add the brakes and wheels.

Next days I'll be working on the jaguar.

the engine is mounted on the car. As I told you, the car will be curbside so I didn't put too much effort in detailing it.

the decalling job is done and also the front and rear wings. I'll wait some days to dry and then I'll apply 3 layers of tamiya's TS-13 clear.
Next step will be glue the parts, attach the brakes and mirrors and add some more nuts and bolts and build the antennas.
This car will be finished soon.

I used some silver foil from a tobacco box to simulate the heat shield underneath the engine instead of painting it. I really like how it works.

I've working on wheels. I added metal tyre valves from Aber.
the decals of the kit where a little bit old and quiet difficult to apply. I added a black wash to the wheels with a mix of tamiya's smoke and flat black.

yesterday I received two new items I purchased from hiroboy.com
the first one is the 1/20 fujimi's ferrari 126ck (1981 canada gp version)
the kit looks fantastic and it has 154 pieces and rain tyres!!!

the second one is the FMD photoetched set to detail the 1/20 fujimi's ferrari 126c2 (1982 San Marino gp version).
I'll start both cars (126ck - curbside and 126c2 superdetailed) when I finish the tyrrell and jaguar.

One of the differences beetween the mclaren and the jaguar is that this last one has two holes for the exhausts on the cowling.
I drilled the holes with a dremmel tool and sanded them to have a smooth finished.
I also scribbed the lines of the exhaust zone wich will be painted with flat black.

I also scatchbuilded the little wings on the sides of the cowling using 5mm styrene sheets.
Next step will be glue the sidepods and finally apply some white primmer prior to start the painting job.

Finally today I receveid the new studio27decals from mediamix hooby. They look superb and allows you to build different liverys of the tyrrell 020 and also the winter test car. Can't wait to use them.

I started decalling the rear wing. As I'm building stefano modena's car,I put the yellow stripes on the upper elements. Only a clear coat ,some polishing and some more bolts are nedded to finish it.

I started the work on wheels. I like to see the wheels looking used so I mounted them on my dremmel tool and sanded the tyre surface a little bit.

Here you can see the difference beetween the original tyres of the kit and the wheels after some sanding work. Next step will be apply the decals, put the tyre valve on the rims and apply a little black wash....

As I usually like to do, I started with the copckit. I used some aftermarket material like the scalemotorsports F1 harness and I also took the seatbelt clothes from an old perfect parts set.

I want to build a curbside model, so I started to work with the engine but I didn't put too much detail on it. The two body parts were glued and I filled the join line with some glue and I sanded it.

I masked the seat and then I test the fitting of the nose and cowling.

I painted the body parts with two layers of primmer and then I sanded them to get a smooth surface. Finally I painted three layers of grey (TS.42) straight from the can. I'll wait some days to dry and then I'll start to apply de decals.

next step will be build the front and rear wing.

Hi to all! as I promised you in my website, I'll try to make a WIP of the building the tyrrell 020 and the conversion from the mclaren mp4/13 to the jaguar R01. So...let's go rockin'!

Tyrrell 020 1/20 scale from Tamiya.

To build the jaguar R01, I will use the tamiya's 1/20 mclaren mp4/13 kit, the jaguar paint from zero paints, some sheets of styrene to modify the rear wing and the cowling and the jaguar decals from el oso kits. I will also use some etched parts to build the seatbelts.
